ASummary: An extra-intracranial bypass was performed in ten
patients with minor stroke and recurrent middle cerebral artery
ischemia refractory to maximal medical therapy. Transcranial
Doppler and Magnetic Resonance angiography demonstrated
progression of middle cerebral artery stenosis. Outcome was good
in all patients. This seleded subgroup of patients seems to obtain
demonstrable benefit from bypass surgery
