Painless childbirth

For over a century painless childbirth has been used successfully. Currently the most common is the epidural or epidural, although there are other avenues such as thoracic, lumbar, cervical analgesia, although this is seldom used because of the serious side effects to the fetus, but the analgesic effectiveness of the procedure confirms the contribution of cervical dilation to pain during the first stage of labor.

The long-term effects of analgesia in childbirth are mainly related to side effects of opioids in the baby and pain or nerve injury. The most common symptoms are back pain and headache. The headache is decreasing due to technical change in the application of analgesia and the safe use of analgesics for post-partum.

Back pain is common during and after pregnancy and are due more to poor posture adopted by the shaft positional change caused by increased uterine volume, that the application of epidural analgesia.

Effective analgesia provides physical benefits, mental and social both mother and baby. However it is difficult to provide pain relief without side effects. The quality of analgesia is measured not only in terms of the effectiveness of the method but also its long-term side effects.
